Getting Ready

In 2 short weeks The Vintage Chicks sale will be upon us.  That means for myself, and some 30 other vendors we  are busy getting our last minute projects prepped, painted, tweeked and priced.  This year's line up will please every level of interest - from the newbie into vintage to the most passionate of buyers. 
There promises to be something for everyone and the location makes for a memorable experience.  If you plan on coming please think about car pooling.

It seems that once the May long weekend is here.. summer is just around the corner.  From where I was the past few days, people are already in the summer kind of mood.   That also means gardening, tending to the   flowers and yard work are a  part of the daily  routine.  That to me is summer, the smell of the earth; spotting a lady bug and the blossoms letting off their beautiful aromas.  And of course,  to take some time just swinging for awhile taking it all in.   

May Long Weekend

May means a long weekend and the first camping weekend.  For the diehards

it doesn't matter that rain or even snow is predicted, it means get ready, get out there and enjoy the outdoors.  I get it totally, as I love camping, the smell of spruce trees, wet grass, smokey fires and getting away from the routine of the city life.  Where ever you are or doing, be safe, have fun and hope you make some awesome memories.  The shop will be open Sat and Sun 12ish - 5ish and closed on Monday.. I'm enjoying a bit of it too!!

Its Like Christmas in April!!!

My hubbie and I have just returned from a wonderful 2 week road trip to Vancouver and down the western seaboard of the USA into Oregon.  We had hoped to see the tulips in full bloom , but missed it by a week.   The daffodils were out and lovely and we were blessed with sunshine most every day.   We met alot of great people and found alot of great finds and have come home to a true spring day.   As my hubbie and I both love junkin and discovering new places and people, we had a blast.  What a great way to celebrate 35 of married life!!
Thankful!!!

Making it happen

When spring seems to take longer than we like, it's time then to shake things up inside.  Make it FEEL like its spring, eventhough we still have the shovel out.

The photos alongside this post feature some new pieces in the shop hosting the new Annie Sloan Paint and wax technique.  I quite love it as the color and wax make for an authentic vintage look.   So much so that one set is already SOLD and they just went out on the floor 2 days prior.   The store is always a work in progress and there are new products and items arriving on a weekly basis.  If you think its the same old, you could be a little disappointed as sometimes they leave near as soon as they arrive!

Inspiration and Admiration

There is an art to inspiration;  and it can be derived in various forms.  Some create inspiration through their perseverance and courage; some through the beauty created through their art style; and others through their writings or photos. The one that we all witness every day is in nature.  From the tiniest of creatures to the most powerful, we can draw inspiration.Whatever way you find inspiration it surrounds us everyday and to see it one must just open their eyes.  May you be inspired to find beauty in your day and week ahead!http://sandymoss.blogspot.ca/

Springing ahead–more daylight

With the springing ahead of the clock, comes 1 hour less sleep but a whole lot more sunshine at the end of the day.   That makes me very happy along with my sweet grape hyacinths that have been trying to bloom and grow for awhile now in the shelter of the foundation of the house.  IN the picture, featured is a cherub garden statutory that would look stunning in a patio or entranceway. Price $84.  The barnboard window is one of a kind made from a repurposed barnboard window.   This too would look stunning in a sheltered spot in a yard or porch Price $149.  The tin is vintage with a handle for those vintage tin collectors Price $24.
